How it all began...
MSC Freshmen In Service and Hosting (FISH) was formed in June of 2000 by a group of former Hospitality members. Dedicated to aid freshmen in the development of leadership, integrity, purpose, identity, and independence while fostering personal relationships.
Through four committees and eight schools, the MSC FISH staff help freshmen become acquainted with the campus and community environments, while serving as mentors. Each freshman has an opportunity to interact with fellow freshmen in the planning and implementation of various programs.
MSC FISH began by setting up core values:
- Provide service and hosting to our surrounding community
- Develop leadership skills within our members
- Supply freshmen with necessary skills and quality attention needed for growth
- Provide the Memorial Student Center and Texas A&M University with future leaders
Since MSC FISH began, we have donated over 12,000 hours of community service cumulatively to the Bryan/College Station, Texas A&M Community, and surrounding cities. With each year, our members become more dedicated to making a life long commitment to volunteerism and social responsibility.
This year will mark our tenth year at Texas A&M and we look forward to all that this year brings!! |
